About Gypseana

Gypseana ("we," "us," "our") is a premium slow-luxury fashion label based at 3/1-5 Keats Street, Byron Bay, NSW, 2481, Australia (ABN 15 600 663 082), creating one-of-one handmade garments, upcycled and reconstructed pieces, embroidered wearable art, and leather goods. Nature of Our Products

Most Gypseana pieces are one-of-one: handmade, produced in single quantity, and often constructed from vintage, reclaimed, or deadstock materials. This means: No two pieces are identical, even within the same style name. Small variations in fabric, embellishment placement, or finish are part of the handmade nature of the piece, not defects. Once a piece is sold, it cannot be restocked or reproduced identically.

Materials, Original Labels, Patterns & Trademark/Copyright Disclosure

All Gypseana garments are made from recycled, reclaimed, or reconstructed fabric. Many pieces begin as an existing branded garment that we deconstruct and rebuild into a new, one-of-one piece — sometimes incorporating not just plain fabric, but a distinctive print, pattern, or motif from the original garment.

Where a piece retains an original manufacturer's label, tag, print, or pattern from a donor garment, this is used or left in place as an authentic artifact of the garment's history and provenance — not as a claim that the finished piece is manufactured, endorsed, sponsored, or approved by that original brand, and not as a reproduction of that design for sale on its own.

For every piece where an original label, print, or recognisable pattern is visible or incorporated, the product listing will clearly state: That Gypseana has reconstructed/reworked the piece from an original, pre-loved garment (described generically, without naming the specific original brand) That Gypseana is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the maker of that original garment That the piece is a one-of-one reconstruction using the physical fabric of a genuine pre-owned garment, not a new product manufactured by, or a reproduction of a design owned by, that original maker

Gypseana does not manufacture counterfeit goods, does not reprint or digitally reproduce another brand's pattern or design onto new fabric, does not name or reference another brand's trademark in its own business name, product titles, tags, or marketing, and only reuses labels, prints, or patterns that were already physically present on the genuine, legitimately acquired garment being reworked.

What We Sell

We sell the one-of-one, ready-made pieces listed on gypseana.com — each shown is an actual finished item, not a template you can request in a different style, size run, or configuration. We do not offer a general custom-order or made-to-measure service through our website or standard checkout.

If you have a genuine interest in commissioning a bespoke piece, you're welcome to contact us directly at gypseana@gmail.com. Custom commissions are priced at a premium above our standard pieces to reflect the added complexity of one-off customisation. The piece is made first; we then confirm the final quote with you once it's complete, and payment is required before the piece is shipped. Any such commission is arranged individually, outside our normal store process, entirely at our discretion, and its terms will be agreed with you personally in writing.

Orders & Payment

All prices are listed in AUD unless a currency converter is shown at checkout; conversion rates are approximate and set by your card provider or Shopify's currency conversion at time of purchase. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order at our discretion (e.g. suspected fraud, pricing error, stock error on a one-of-one item). Payment is processed securely through Shopify Payments and associated gateways; we do not store your full payment card details.

Intellectual Property

All designs, photography, branding, and written content on gypseana.com are the property of Gypseana and may not be reproduced, copied, or used commercially without written permission.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. For customers in New Zealand or Spain, nothing in these Terms limits any consumer protection rights that cannot be excluded under the mandatory law of your country of residence.

Shipping Scope

We currently ship only to Australia, New Zealand, and Spain. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where shipping is restricted by customs regulations, export control law, or carrier limitations.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gypseana is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of our products or website. Nothing in these Terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), or equivalent mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence, that cannot lawfully be excluded.
